What is your background as a clinician?

I have a doctorate in Nursing Practice, with a specialty in Family.

I love taking care of all age groups

I was a nurse in the emergency department at UIC and at a federally qualified health center urgent care. I really miss being in the ER, I loved it!  I was trained as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and was able to help victims of sexual assault when they presented to the emergency department.

I am a part-time nurse practitioner in a Family Medicine office within a larger medical system.  I love that I can have a relationship with patients in primary care, this is quite different from my ER experience!  I like building a rapport with patients, giving them the help they need, helping manage their current medical conditions, and screening/preventing new medical conditions. I love working with my patients and empowering them to take care of themselves, making life choices that benefit their help, educating them about their health, and developing a treatment plan together. It is a good fit for me professionally!

What is a fun fact about yourself?

in 2013 I was named one of America's 10 Most Freedom Loving and Independent Women by Harley Davidson.  Motorcycle was a huge part of my identity and a big passion.  I have been to Sturgis motorcycle rally 6 times, and have ridden there on my bike 3 times- its 1,000 miles one way!  I haven't ridden since my older brother was killed on his motorcycle, but I still aspire to ride again someday and feel the wind in my hair!

What made you want to start a career in Aesthetics?

Aesthetics is the perfect balance of science and art, with the goal of making my clients feel beautiful.  I have always had an artistic side, and growing up I always dreamed of attending beauty school or being an art teacher.  With aesthetics, I have a perfect balance of practicing my artistic side with my   Oddly enough, during my bachelor program studying kinesiology, I was obsessed with cadaver lab.  I went into the lab on my off days, worked with a high school enrichment program in the lab, and took advantage of the privileged opportunity to study the human body with those who were generous enough to donate their body to science. When I attended Rush for my Master's in Nursing, I became buddies with the cadaver lab director, and he would let me volunteer in the lab, too!

Why did you join Pinch?

I joined Pinch because of the incredible opportunities it offers.  Getting into aesthetics is very exclusive, and Pinch allows the providers to take the lead in their aesthetic practice.

What do you appreciate most about Pinch?

What I appreciate the most about Pinch is the support they give their providers and the amount of flexibility.

Where are you based, and what areas do you service?

I'm based in McHenry County, and service the Northwest suburbs.  I grew up in Buffalo Grove, have family in Arlington Heights, and use my community to reach new clients.

What is your favorite treatment? Treatment area?

My favorite treatment combo is the BioRePeel and tox.  The chemo exfoliation effects leave your skin glowing, smooth, and radiant, and the synergistic result with tox is gorgeous.   But also, I love doing lip filler!

What are your favorite skincare products?

I love Skinceuticals, PCA, the Ordinary, and La Roche Possay!

What is your number 1 skincare tip?

Less is more!  If you do not already have a skincare routine, start with the basics! It does not need to be intimidating or expensive. Cleansers, moisturizers, and SPF are a good start, and add on to your treatment as necessary to meet your skin's needs.

What is the biggest misconception you think people have about injectable aesthetics?

The biggest misconception is that receiving an injectable treatment will change the way you look, and people will notice.  The best injection is undetected, and I love that our treatments only enhance natural beauty.

What is one skincare item that you could not live without?

S P F- all day, every day! And my cleanser... I love a clean face in the morning and before bed!
