Immediate Post-Treatment Care
Immediately following your Microneedling treatment, take the following steps to ensure a smooth and comfortable recovery:
- Aftercare Kit: Use your aftercare kit as instructed until you finish the products. You can begin applying the calming balm as soon as 4 hours after your treatment. Use the kit as often as you'd like.
- Resume Skincare Routine: You may return to your normal skincare routine 4-5 days post-microneedling treatment.
- Cleansing: Use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water to cleanse the face for 72 hours following your treatment.
- Exercise and Sun Exposure: Avoid vigorous exercise, sun, and heat exposure, including tanning beds, for 24 hours following your treatment.
Continued Care and Long-Term Maintenance
In the days and weeks following your microneedling treatment, incorporate the following aftercare practices into your skincare routine to optimize results and ensure prolonged efficacy:
- Hydration and Moisturization: Keep your body hydrated and your skin moisturized.
- Sunscreen: Wear and reapply sunscreen regularly to protect your skin.
- Avoid Picking or Scratching: Do not pick or scratch the treated skin to avoid irritation and scarring.
- Warm Environments: Avoid warm environments such as hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, etc., to prevent irritation.
Managing Potential Side Effects
While microneedling treatments are generally well-tolerated, it's important to be aware of potential side effects and take appropriate measures to manage them:
- Redness:Temporary redness or erythema at the treatment site is normal and should subside within a few hours post-treatment. Avoid harsh skincare products and cosmetics that may exacerbate redness.
- Pain Management: If you experience any pain or discomfort, you may take Tylenol or use ice to help reduce swelling if necessary.
- Scabbing: Light scabs may form in the treated area and may remain for 24-48 hours. Avoid picking or scratching the scabs. Keep the area moisturized with a gentle product from your aftercare kit.
- Bruising:
Mild bruising at the treatment site is common and typically resolves within a few days. Apply arnica gel or cream to minimize bruising and promote healing. - Swelling:
Mild swelling may occur, particularly around the treatment area. Apply cold compresses and avoid salty foods to reduce swelling.
